Tavern Sandwiches

These sandwiches can be considered the red headed step-child of sloppy Joes. Appears the same at first glance. On closer scrutiny it could be called Onion Joe. I would use a clove or two of garlic. This recipe came from my Aunt Bobbie in 2004, so it is mine now. As a matter of fact many of my own recipes are family heirlooms. Be sure to use Sourdough Hoagie, Sourdough Stadium, or Sourdough Pub buns.

Tavern Sandwiches:
4 servings
Ingredients:
1 pound hamburger
2 large onions
1 can tomato soup
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon mustard
1 tablespoon coconut sugar
1 teaspoon ground horseradish
Salt and pepper
Directions:
Brown meat with onions. Drain off fat. Add soup, vinegar, mustard, sugar, and horseradish. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Simmer until thick stirring and watching so it doesn't scorch. Serve on Sourdough Hoagie buns.
