The recipes collected from family, friends, and neighbors I boldly claim as my own. Even if they are plastered all over the internet, there are small tweaks that make them a little different. Actually it is techniques not tweaks that make a difference.
By the way, this is for an unstuffed bird. Bake the dressing separately. For this turkey coat well with lots of peanut oil. No other type of oil will do. Sprinkle liberally with paprika and work it all around the bird. Place in a large grocery bag breast side down and staple the bag shut. Load the bagged bird into a roasting pan.
375 degrees
Roast for 13-15minutes per pound. When the turkey is ready, poke a meat thermometer through the bag and into the Turkey and give it a minute to register. Try to miss the bone. The thermometer should register between 163-170 degrees. Remove from oven and leave in bag for 15 minutes.
